Inside Gapps

There aren’t many teams like this: inside Gapps’ Google Workspace crew, where change gets shipped and people have your back

Thinking about a career move in this market? You’re not alone. The question we hear most is: “Will there be meaningful work and room to grow?”

Short answer: yes.

At Gapps, our Google Workspace team has kept a full project pipeline this year (2025), with customers who are frontrunners and growth-minded, even now. As a company, we’re on track for €20M+ revenue in 2025, and you’d be joining a business that’s profitable, founder/employee-owned, and building for the long term.

Our mission is simple: help companies work smarter. In practice that means migrations that land, tech change that sticks, security that holds up, and adoption that turns into business outcomes.

The tools evolve. AI and automation are accelerating that change. But our core stays: make work easier and more effective for real people.

How our GWS team works (and why it feels different)

We’re a compact, senior-leaning group that values clarity, ownership, and a low-ego help culture. Project squads form around real customer goals; we standardise what should repeat (cutover plans, comms, checklists) and keep space for judgment when people and context are involved.

“You never have to be alone. If you ask, help shows up,” says Riikka Helminen, our Project Manager for 3,5 years.

“Yep. Come as you are. Even after a messy morning. It’s safe to bring your real day to the daily,” says Erkki Kanninen, our Principal Solution Engineer with 12,5 years at Gapps.

There simply aren’t many Finnish teams doing this kind of Google Workspace work at this level. When customers want a local partner for serious rollouts and change, the shortlist is short, and we’re on it.

What we want to preserve as our team grows: the help-first culture, the ambition to do things properly, and the habit of sharing what we learn.

What we want to add as we grow: even more slack for sparring and cross-learning, so the whole team climbs higher than any one of us could alone.

“The goal is more room to learn from each other and more deliberate peer time,” says Suvi Pankakoski, our Service Lead who has been in our team for 7 years.

What we actually deliver (cases, value, pace)

This is not endless pre-studies or “maybe later” decks. It's a hands-on change we’re delivering for customers. It can look like:

  • Workspace deployments and data migrations. Planning, environment prep, integrations, and cutovers – from smaller technological moves to complex consolidation.
  • Merger integrations and enterprise change. We’ve run many merger programs and long-running engagements.
  • User-centred adoption & training. We look at “technical” changes through the user lens, because that’s where value lands.
  • Security consulting on the Google stack: modern practices embedded into daily work.

“We look at ‘technical’ changes through the user lens, because that’s where value lands. Less endless pre-study, more making change happen,” Erkki says.

Many of our projects are with returning customers. Long relationships where trust is built by outcomes. Riikka summed it up after years with Arrive (formerly EasyPark): it starts to feel like working with colleagues, not “a client.” That’s the level of partnership we aim for.

And yes, the pipeline has held busy this year. In consulting, bench time can happen; in our team, it’s been rare.

“Our customers tend to be frontrunners and growth companies. Even this year, there’s been plenty to do,” says Juha-Matti Kuortti, our Principal Project & Change Manager with 10 years at Gapps.

Where we’re headed: AI, automation, and a sharper toolkit

Our core doesn’t change: making work smarter for people. What does change are the tools and the speed at which we can deliver outcomes.

AI and automation are now part of every serious change conversation: how they affect users, how admins operate, how we secure environments, and how teams adopt new ways of working. For you as a new-comer in our team, that means a front-row seat: shaping practical, safe AI-enabled workflows that customers will actually learn to use.

“The fundamentals stay the same, but the tools move fast. We’re right at the vantage point where AI meets real work,” says Jaakko Pohja, our Solution Engineer with 7 years at Gapps.

If you love building solutions that are adopted, not just admired on a dashboard – you’ll fit right in.

What we look for (and what you can learn here)

Mindset > buzzwords. Specific Google Workspace tech can be learned. What we value most:

  • Ownership, self-management, and a bias to action
  • Clear communication with users and stakeholders
  • Curiosity and the will to improve the way we work together

If you bring security depth, even better, we’d love to learn from you. And if you’re earlier on the Workspace curve but strong in project leadership, change, or adjacent tech, you’ll find mentors and real cases to grow fast.

“You don’t have to be ‘finished.’ Show the will to learn and the courage to take responsibility, that’s what matters,” Riikka says.
