Celebrating 15 Years of Gapps

Fifteen years ago, Gapps was born from a simple but bold idea: bringing the power of the cloud to businesses. Today, we’re proud to mark this milestone by looking back at our journey, celebrating achievements, and looking ahead to an even brighter future together.

This anniversary is also a moment to recognize the people who made it happen. Gappsians who have poured their ideas, skills, and dedication into these 15 years, for our partners who have been with us along the way, and most importantly, our clients who place their trust in our expertise every single day.



Our roots: How it all started

In 2010, while cloud services were already a part of everyday life for consumers, most Finnish businesses were still navigating rigid, outdated systems. Some companies clung to their own farms of servers, while facing huge challenges in scaling and costs. Working at the office wasn’t only the norm, it was also a strong must. A group of students saw a clear opportunity: to help these companies harness the same benefits of the cloud that individuals were already enjoying.

That spark became Gapps. In the early days, our mission was simple: help Finnish companies thrive with cloud solutions. As we've grown, our purpose has evolved. Today, we focus on building smart, smooth, and secure ways of working that empower our customers to thrive in a constantly changing digital world.

A part of our vision has already become true. Finnish companies have come a long way from the halls and walls of servers into the cloud. The next step is clear – the Nordic countries need to win with Intelligent Automation and AI.

As a Google Cloud Premier Partner, we’re proud of the depth of expertise our team brings to every project, a commitment recognised in 2025 when Gapps was named Google Cloud Country Partner of the Year for Finland. Security is also a cornerstone: Gapps is one of only 37 companies worldwide to hold the Google Cloud Security Services Specialization. Furthermore, our entire team of Google Cloud architects, security engineers, and cloud engineers is Google Cloud Security Engineer Certified, and we have the most experienced Google Workspace team in Northern Europe.

Individual talents also drive the success. In 2024, Principal Cloud Consultant Eelis Orvas was named a Google Cloud Partner All-star in the Solutions Engineering category for his exceptional work building modern, secure solutions for our customers. 

The team’s technical expertise goes beyond Google as well. Competence extends to platforms like monday.com, Freshworks, and JumpCloud, supported by a wide range of certifications from technology partners. This breadth ensures we can design high-quality, secure, and user-friendly digital work environments tailored to each client’s needs.

Our growth isn't just about awards. Gapps’ steady climb in the TIVI 250 ranking year after year — from 225 in 2022 to 216 in the latest 2024 listing — reflects the trust our customers place in us and the real-world results we deliver. And at the heart of it all is Gapps culture: a team of curious, dedicated problem solvers and cheerful personalities.

  15. Importantly, through licence and operations optimisation, we generated €2.1 million in customer savings last year, not to mention the added value our professional services bring to the customers.
